Why does National city charge maintenance fees for my savings account?

That depends on how much you use the account. It's Federal Law that you can only with drawl out of a savings account 3 times per quarter or else the bank charges you. I'd read the fine print in you book you got when you opened the account, or ask them. Also, they could be charging you if your account balance falls below the account minimum|||because they want to make profit the banks are pushing a couple buttons on a computer and calling it maintenance i say find a bank that don't have those fees or ask them if you can do your owen maintenance
