My facebook account has been unavailable for hours. how can i make it available, or access my inbox/requests?

When trying to login i get the error: "Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience." I want to be able to access my inbox and requests - is there any way around this? Or should we all just stop using facebook?|||You will just have to wait it out. Just as they said they are doing maintenance. It should be up by morning. There is no way around it. The only way you could read your inbox is if you get notices in your email.
