I have requested to close my secured credit card account about 2 weeks ago. The reason why I requested to close it is because I will start getting charged a monthly maintenance fee of $10 a month. How long do you think it will take them to close it?|||They should have closed it immediately.Meaning you can't charge anything to the account, but still must make your payments.

Yes, this does happen every once in awhile. There is nothing to worry about.|||I get that all the time. I usually just attempt to sign in again right away (because the sign-in pops up again) and I am able to sign in. sorry for not reveal hw much im paying for the maintenance for the kids, they are already grown up and still studying at college, the kids are complaining they are given minimum sum of pocket money from their mother, as they knew how much im given maintenance for them through their mother's account, and on top of that ive given some extra money to them personally for their expenses. How does freezing a bank account work?
Is it possible to freeze my BoA account so I won't be charged the monthly maintenance fee and still be able to unfreeze it after a couple of months?|||I used to work for Bank of America. You can't freeze your account in order to get out of paying a montly maintenance fee. I would call customer service and ask them to switch you to a better account, one where you don't incur any fees. I believe they still have MyAcess Checking, where you don't have any services charges as long as you have one direct deposit a month. If you change the kind of account you have, it won't change your account number or your card number or anything like that.|||doubtful

If my partner moves in will tax credits take into account that he pays maintenance to his ex?
I'd like my partner to move in with me but have to prepare financially. Currently I receive no child support from my ex, work full time and get tax credits. My partner also works full time and pays child support to his ex.
Will my tax credits drop by the full amount of his income or will they allow for the fact that he pays 拢500 a month to his ex?
I am very concerned that he may have to reduce the maintenance he pays to the minimum set down by the csa in order to give me enough to compensate for the loss of tax credits. I don't like the idea of his children losing out to mine but can't see my two going without so that I can live with the man I love.

The best option is call them and explain the situation to the tax credit people
You will lose the single parents element on the tax credit and also your child benefit
If you love him you will work this out .. your children will not do without and at a best guess you will lose roughly 拢40 pw but he can always do overtime to make up the difference and your childcare costs will drop

i can't log in whatsoever as it comes up with something to do with the fact a function is disabled, i tried viewing my profile from another friend's account and it said that it was undergoing maintenance. I've been trying to log on last night and today and every time a message appears "Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. When I logged into my PayPal account today I was sent to a Security Measures screen.?
The screen said "We are currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures. Your account has been randomly selected for this maintenance, and you will now be taken through a series of identity verification pages." I was then asked to re-enter my credit card and bank account information. Is this normal? How long does Facebook maintenance last?
My account has been down for at least two hours now. Every time I log in I get this message:

How long does it usually take before I can get on Facebook again? I've heard stories of it being days.|||I have seen this a few times, both on my own account and on my husband's account. It's usually a max of like four hours, but two days ago (on Wednesday) my husband had that message which first appeared around 12:30pm and his account didn't open back up until almost midnight...so it was down for about 12 hours. :/|||This is same message which is showing on my FB acc when i login. Its been more than a couple hours now|||it should not take more than couple of hours|||Mine's down too... no idea how long it last... but i feel better that it's not just me!!!|||be Patience|||that has never happened to me... it's kinda weird.|||i got the same problem here :/// i guess we gotta wait for it to come back upp :(

That is a scammer trying to hi-jack your email address to spam all your contacts and then use the account to spam hundreds/thousands of others.
Yahoo and all email companies, all banks and all companies in the entire world will NEVER ask for your password, pin or date of birth. No Exceptions Ever.
Ignore and delete that email and any others demanding such information.
If you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of needing your password, great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.
Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.
Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money, email address or identity to a scammer.
If you google "yahoo email phishing scam", "email hijacked viagara porn spammer" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near victims of this type of scam.
In fact, if you check out the section here at Yahoo Answers entitled "Yahoo email, spam and bulk mail" you will find hundreds of questions from victims who have had their email address hi-jacked or spoofed by scammers sending out porn and viagara spam.|||This is a known phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.|||DO NOT REPLY

How do I contact Facebook if they are not allowing me to log on due to maintenance or errors?
I am continually getting errors that say maintenance is being performed on my account and my blackberry app keeps logging me off. Other people don't seem to be experiencing these issues. this is regarding about World of Warcraft|||sometimes, on minor days when they are just doing bug fixes, you should be able to log in to your battle.net, but on days like today, where they are fixing the site itself as well as the game due to slightly bigger issues, or updating content on the website itself, they will also bring their website down

I am applying for student financial support. In the section asking about my income, it tells me to take "maintenance payments" into account. Does pocket money from my parents count?|||Pocket money does not count. Maintenance payments don't affect you. These are payments made to people who are divorced and may be taken as income.

its been 2 days, and i still cant log onto facebook because of 'site maintenance'. i upgraded internet explorer, i deleted my cookies, temp. files, and it still doesnt work! is my account being hacked/deleted? none of my friends can also view my account either.
any suggestions on what i should do?

Then she tried going on mine and it said this users account is going under routine maintenance! What is that? Can somebody help me out here....I am not trading on margin, but I got a margin call today saying it was generated yesterday for about $65 and is due today. Do I have to meet that? I mean-I'm no longer

Edited to add: I just came across an article on cnet confirming that Facebook has been having database issues. Clearly, you - myself, and many others are among the affected. Edited to add: I just came across an article on cnet confirming that Facebook has been having database issues. Clearly, you - myself, and many others are among the affected. Supposedly to be resolved within 24 hours.|||we just moved here in Taiwan and same thing is happening with my connection. Was it my net book or just the connection?

My work email suddenly became unable to log in to my account using Outlook Web Application.
The following error message shows up when I try to access. If it's not down for a maintenance, could it be that they deleted my account or anything else? They have millions of users and therefore have to have hundreds if not thousands of servers. When they do maintenance they have to apply it to every server eventually. The server that you connect to happens to be the server that is down for maintenance. While your friends are connected to a different server, which may have already received maintenace or is still waiting for maintenance.

Bank of America is charging me maintenance fees for an account I had closed?
I looked at my BofA iphone app yesterday, noticed everything was fine. I only have one account specifically for checking, I had a second account closed. Explain to me why I have that closed account re-opened, with a negative balance of 22 dollars, with 3 monthly maintenance fees from: May, June, and July. Now mind you had this account closed back in April, so if it was some kind of mess-up, I should have noticed earlier. I shouldn't have 3 random fees today. Any theories as to how this happened? I'm pretty irritated about it right now.|||We had an account with them that had $0.01 (yes a single penny in it). They didn't close it, but chose to hit us up for the fee for 2-3 months before I saw it. I brought the statement back, and told them that I thought they would just close the account down, since it wasn't used.
They wiped off the late fees, but I still had to take out that penny a week later to close the account, because it took them about that long to get the fees reversed.|||just walk-in to the bank and explain to them nicely what has happened so they will cancel the charges and make sure this time the account will be closed!|||Ahh go ask them and say why it was re opened when it was closed.

Why does Yahoo not disclose when maintenance will affect your account? In Mail Beta (which Yahoo "pushes")
In Mail Beta (which Yahoo "pushes") I get error code: -7 Contacts XML server sync error in either IE7 or FireFox 2.0.0.6 Only when I went to Options, Mail Options, Contact Options (new window opens and it "reverts" to the "old" mail style) was there red text at the top of the page saying, "Yahoo! Stuff like this makes me want to switch to Google. Yahoo, show the public you care. How long has Beta been out? Make it official, clean it up, fix the bugs and roll it out. He's trying to manipulate you from a distance, and he has no right to ask this.
He clearly doesn't understand how child maintenance works; it is money for the here and now, money that you as the Primary Caregiver can spend on your daughter as you see fit - spending it wisely would also include being able to pay house bills, food, items for the house that enhance your life with your child - anything that you choose - it's none of his business.
Be firm with this controlling man, and explain that that is NOT how things are done, and that failure to pay voluntarily will force you to contact the CSA and begin claim proceedings.
Be aware that any money you receive from your ex-partner must be declared to the Department of Work and Pensions if you are claiming any benefits.

File a Petition for Support and let the court require him to pay. This way the money will be required to go directly to the Family Court and then the court will send you the check. Ask that his wages be attached so that his employer will send in the money. Then his "whim" to send or not to send will have consequences if the money stops. You may be required to advise the court as to what the money is spent on, but since we both know what it takes to raise a child financially, that should not be an issue at all.|||Maybe agree to send him copies of receipts that the money is being used on the child. Based on your posting I feel he is proposing to set up a trust for her. Laws around trusts can be complicated I do not believe it is a good idea for this type of situation. Ideally you should go through Child Support Agency (CSA) in order to guarantee that you receive some payments from him. If you do not use CSA then there is no way to ensure that he pays.|||Child support is to help with the material things the child needs, it is not up to one parent to clothe, feed and keep a roof over their heads, it is the responsibility of both parents. So he is just being a jerk, you need the help and he is to give it to you. I would make him pay through the csa.|||well why does he not work out what he thinks is right to pay every month then pay bills off for that amount.

He clearly doesn't understand how child maintenance works; it is money for the here and now, money that you as the Primary Caregiver can spend on your daughter as you see fit - spending it wisely would also include being able to pay house bills, food, items for the house that enhance your life with your child - anything that you choose - it's none of his business.
Be firm with this controlling man, and explain that that is NOT how things are done, and that failure to pay voluntarily will force you to contact the CSA and begin claim proceedings.
Be aware that any money you receive from your ex-partner must be declared to the Department of Work and Pensions if you are claiming any benefits.

Facebook Account Unavailable due to Maintenance?
Last night, all of a sudden I received a message from Facebook stating that my account was unavailable due to site maintenance and would be available again in a few hours. It's been more than a few hours and I am concerned that my account has been hacked or something. When I try to look up my account from another Facebook account, it states that my account is not available. Did I do something? I've tried emailing them, but from what I read, that's a waste of time. Doe anyone know what this means and when I might have my account back, if at all? :(|||They are updating the servers. Facebook would have multiple servers, so quite likely they are doing maintenance work on the server that stores your account, but not the sever that store the other accounts.
