Which credit cards and bank accounts don't charge maintenance fees?

I'm 18 years old, and I'm thinking about opening a bank account and credit card so I can shop online with my own money instead of with my parents. Which ones don't charge maintenance fees? Which ones, in your opinion, are best? Also, which do you have? Thanks|||Lots of banks do not have a fee for checking accounts anymore, and with a checking account, you can get a debit card that will most likely have a Visa or MC logo on it so you can shop online etc.

One should NEVER get a credit card that charges a fee to do something. Only typical fee with a credit card is if you get a cash advance.|||Yes, that is correct, most banks don't charge fees anymore on checking accounts. Also, if ever there are maintenance fees, they are waived if the maintaining balances are kept. If you have a checking account, you can either get a debit card or a credit card.

I assume you are a student, so the best credit card for you is Capital One Student Rewards card which has no annual fee and offers 2% back on purchases such as textbooks and entertainment and 1% back on regular purchases
